Sustainable Entrepreneurship

As a growing company in the fashion industry, we feel it's important to do our bit for a more sustainable environment. We want to do business in a way that minimises our impact on the environment and our surroundings. And we'd like to tell you how we achieve this at Suitable.

~Raoul van Dun

Suitable does business with respect for people and their surroundings. This is of great importance to us, especially as we're a growing company.

Quality begins with a sustainable production process

Quality begins with sustainable materials and a sustainable production process. We believe that the quality of fashion begins with a sustainable production process. That's why we don't go for 'fast fashion'; clothes that only last a short time and have a negative impact on the environment. There's a reason why the Suitable brand guarantees quality: you can be assured that our clothes will last a long time. The quality of the fabric needs to be durable. To emphasise this level of quality, all Suitable items are sold with guarantee. Quality begins with sustainable materials and a sustainable production process. Responsible choices

When it comes to the environment, Suitable has set itself some ambitious goals. We want to reduce the production emissions of our shops by 50% over the next couple of years. The most important pillars for this are recycling, waste separation, minimalizing our use of paper, efficient logistics and switching to LED.

Suitable bag
  • Sustainable fashionEach day, we get a step closer to making our clothing assortment more sustainable. Reducing the burden on the climate and making the production process fairer and more transparent.
  • Waste separationAt Suitable, we are committed to strict waste separation, to ensure materials can be recycled. Where possible, we reuse cardboard for internal transports.
  • LED lightingAll our shops, as well as our service centre, are fitted with LED lights. These lights provide high energy savings.
  • Carrier bagsSuitable has two types of carrier bags. Our 'plastic bag' is made of recycled polythene (PE). No less than 80% of this material is recycled from post-consumer waste, in other words: household waste.

Our sustainable clothing line

Our Respect collection has been developed with respect for the environment, people and the product. All products in this collection are made of organic and sustainable fabrics, and where possible, they are dyed using natural methods. The people who make our fabrics work in sustainable factories on a fair basis, so that they feel respected. We don't want the use of sustainable materials to compromise the quality of our clothing.

Social responsibility

At Suitable, we feel it's important to be part of the community. To be aware of the people around us. To contribute to local communities, Suitable provides social sponsoring in addition to its commercial sponsorships. We support national and local charities, especially in the form of sponsoring in kind. Some of the projects we have supported include initiatives of:

- Nederlandsche Tafelronde

Our motto is: my moment, my style. We offer sustainable fashion for every moment. As part of our social responsibility programme, we aim to distribute at least 30,000 free condoms per year to students. It's our way to promote safe sex among the student population. Have you got a project that Suitable could sponsor? Send us an e-mail with all the details, size, scope and your wishes. Requests for free condoms can also be made by e-mail.
